Trinity Street Asset Management LLP is a London based Investment Manager. The investment team is made up of 4 portfolio managers and 2 analysts who are all considered global generalists.  They focus their  research exclusively on companies experiencing periods of change where disruptions to normal market pricing mechanisms are most likely to be found.

The  track record suggests that the team has been successful in identifying pricing anomalies over the long term. The key advantage here is that “change” is a constant in business and markets and is ever-present, although where change takes place is constantly moving. “Under-Recognised Change” arises irrespective of whether value, growth or other trends are generally impacting markets and can therefore be seen as a consistent source of alpha.

A key part of the investment process is the Portfolio Manager building conviction that his/her projections for the company are correct and the consensus wrong to the extent that a minimum return of 50% may be expected over a 2-3 year period. TSAM’s company visits involve in-depth analysis and may often be to the competitors, suppliers or customers of a company.. This “360 degree” analysis usually gives greater understanding of the company being analysed and may lead to the inception of further investment ideas.. The research intensity is particularly important as TSAM’s standard portfolios generally invest in a maximum of 35 stocks.
